BlackSad

This project was a big learning exercise. I wanted to get up to speed on using XGen for hair creation, and utilizing Marvelous Designer into my clothing workflow. Blacksad is also one of my favorite books and would be a great subject matter for this learning exercise.

My biggest takeaway is......less is more with Marvelous. I spent a ton of time doing so many stitch lines and cuts, when really they ended up being a bigger hindrance than value. I just needed the core shapes since I was always going to sculpt on top in Zbrush.
With Xgen, i started by trying to take a realtime approach. That proved problematic for placing soo many small furs. I eventually " cheated " and placed guides directly to the body and coverted to geo. I then polypainted back in Zbrush and slightly tweaked shapes before importing back into Marmoset for the render. But by going through the process ( several times over ) I feel really comfortable with the workflow and could successfully make realtime Donald Trump
